1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2 FHC

1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2 FHC

This stunning example of a highly desirable Series I 4.2 E-Type fixed has been lovingly maintained throughout its life as evidenced by the substantial history file with invoices dating from 2023 back to 1975.

Rolling off the Jaguar production line in March 1965, it was despatched first to Henlys, London and then to dealer F.W. Mays & Co of Dorking and on to its first owner Mr A G Heaton of Beau Green in Surrey. It retains its original Dark Blue interior and was subject to a bare metal repaint from the original Opalescent Silver Blue to Indigo just four years ago. Earlier this year, it was subject to further expenditure with race prep specialist Hawker Racing, with bills for over £12,000 for work to the front suspension and engine, including a top-end overhaul, and the replating of the suspension and repainting of the engine frame. The car also features Cooper Craft brakes.

In the past, it has been used in competitive events like the Harewood Hill Climb and in 2016 it completed the gruelling Paris-Vienna Rally.

As one of 30 cars competing in the post-war category, the Paris-Vienna event recalls the epic city-to-city race of 1902, which took in thrilling Alpine roads such as the Nockhalmstrasse.

Presented in excellent condition, this is a very useable example of an early E-Type FHC.
