This rare RHD Maserati Sebring is one only 98 Series II cars featuring the 3.7 litre (3692cc) twin-cam and twin-ignition inline 6 cylinder engine. Named after Maserati’s 1957 win in the 12-hour race at Sebring International Raceway, the Sebring was based on the 3500GT platform, with some subtle changes, and a gorgeous 2+2 coupe body designed by Michelotti of Vignale coach builders.
This particular example was delivered new to Maserati Concessionaires, London and registered DJV 591C. It has just emerged from a very sympathetic restoration which skilfully blends the old with the new, with full engine rebuild and fresh paintwork while retaining all of the original red leather interior, down to the patinated carpets, rather than replace with new. The result is a car which has lost none of its period authenticity but is on the button and ready to go.
In Bleu Sera with Red Connolly leather this a rare RHD example of Maserati’s very fast and capable Grand Tourer, which was acclaimed in period for its superb handling and is the very epitome of la dolce vita.
