  • Competitor in historic events
  • Superb condition
This is a rare recreation of a 1957 14 Louvre Ferrari Tour de France TdF. Only nine original examples of this model were built in period, the most famous being the car Olivier Gendebien drove to victory in the 1957 Mille Miglia, as seen in the race sequence in the film Ferrari. However even fewer 14 Louvre recreations are believed to have been built.

Constructed on a genuine Ferrari 250 PF chassis, this car has all the right names attached to the build. The body was hand-crafted  by the best coach builders in Italy, Bacchelli & Villa, who were recently acquired by Ferrari to form part of its Classiche Department; the car was assembled by DK Engineering in the UK; and the interior is by Italy’s most respected upholstery specialists, Luppi, using the finest hides.

It was built for a Swedish client over 30 years ago and originally painted in Swedish racing colours. It then moved from the UK to the USA where it was granted FIA HTP papers in 2006. In the intervening years in has participated in the California Mille and a number of European events. It was then purchased by a Japanese collector who repainted it Rosso Rubino, before returning to the US where it currently resides in an American collection.

While it was still in the UK it was featured in the magazine Auto Italia where is was compared very favourably to a genuine 58 Single Louvre TdF.
