AC Cobra 289 FIA HTP

AC Cobra 289 FIA HTP

This AC Cobra 289 by Autocraft was first road registered in 1971 and for nearly four decades remained in regular use as a road car.

In 2009 it was professionally rebuilt as a race car by respected race prep specialists MJR Motorsport of Wymondham Norfolk, and made its competition debut in 2011.

Since that that it has been successfully raced and proved highly competitive. It has consistently been a front-running car in the Masters; GTSCC and HSCC events, and has been invited to Goodwood in the past.

With new FIA HTP (Appendix K) papers granted in 2022, it features a 289 cubic inch 460 bhp engine by Cobra go-to man Steve Warrior; a Roltek gearbox and a Gripper differential all having been rebuilt with only one race on the clock. Running on magnesium wheels, with stainless steel exhaust system and plumbed-in FEV fire extinguisher system and many bespoke parts fitted when first built by MJR, this well-sorted example has been a regular race participant for more than a decade, and a Cobra with a fifty-year history.

A competitive car competitively priced. Please call for more details.
